Troubleshooting common Arlo app related issues

Arlo security cameras are probably the most reliable surveillance devices one can get in the market. However, issues related to the software and more can plague even the most versatile of the devices. If you have an Arlo security camera at home and are facing issues related to the software or having trouble completing certain tasks, this blog is for you. You will find ways you can configure the Arlo camera settings to your preference in easy steps.

Erase and Delete recording on Arlo app

Despite having access to the live video footage from your Arlo camera, you might want to record and store some of the videos on the cloud app. If at some point of time, you decide to erase and delete the recordings due to space or some other issue, here are the steps you can follow:

Launch the Arlo smartphone app and log in to the Arlo account using the default web address my.arlo.com.

Once logged in, click on the Settings tab and head to the Privacy menu to access the Arlo Privacy Center.

Tap or click on Content tab.

Again, tap on Erase & Reset Arlo Devices option.

Important: If you are not a registered admin user, you will not be able to Erase and Reset Arlo devices. You can ask the admin to grant you such rights.

Now, tap on Reset & Erase tab for the device that you would like to erase the content from.

Tap or click on the Reset & Erase All Devices option to erase all devices.

From the following prompt, tap on Erase or Reset & Erase option.

If both Arlo Secure Cloud Recording and Local Recording are enabled, you will be asked the one you would like to erase or both. If you select Reset & Erase, the device will be reset to factory default and will need to be reinstalled to the Arlo account.

Note: It is impossible to erase local recordings from the Privacy Center for Arlo Go, Arlo Go 2, Arlo Q, and Arlo Q Plus cameras. You will need to remove the microSD card and delete the recordings manually.

Tap or click on the Erase or Reset & Erase option and the selected recording will be deleted.
